Mean stress effect in stress-life for hard steels

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract This paper examines the effect of mean stress on fatigue behavior very hard carburized steels. Current theories suggest that maximum at limit continuously decreases with decreasing minimum whereas results this study indicate remains constant for stresses less than fully reversed amplitude stress. The theory proposed by authors corrects error maintaining in compressive region.

PREDICTION OF CRITICAL STRESS AND STRAIN FOR THE ONSET OF DYNAMIC RECRYSTALLIZATION IN PLAIN CARBON STEELS

The aim of the present study is the prediction of critical conditions (including critical strain and flow stress) for the initiation of dynamic recrystallization during thermo-mechanical processing of plain carbon steels. For this propose, torsion tests were conducted at different temperature (1050, 1100 and 1150˚C) and strain rates (0.002, 0.02 and 0.2/s). All flow curves showed a peak st...

Effect of a Coating Induced Residual Stress on Magnetic Domain Structure in Non-Oriented Electrical Steels

To produce the magnetic core of the electric motors, non-oriented electrical steels (NOES) are used. Recently much attention has been focused on optimizing the efficiency of electric motors and, as such, various materials aspects of NOES are being re-examined. Typically, NOES are used in the form of laminations (~200-1000 μm thick) with an electrically insulating coating applied to the surface....

Histological Evaluation of Pancreas Following Early Life Stress in Exposure to Pubertal Stress in Male Rats

Background and purpose: Stressful events in early-life induce metabolic disorders in adolescence. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of early-life stress on number or area of Langerhans islets in exposure to foot-shock and psychological stress in male rats. Materials and methods: The rats were divided into six groups: control (without stress), early-stress (stress at 2 weeks o...

Effects of Stress on the Magnetic Properties of Steels

where T is temperature, S is entropy and J.1oaM2/2 is the self-coupling energy. The dimensionless term a. has been defined previously [2] and represents the strength of the coupling of the individual magnetic moments to the magnetization M. The effective magnetic field causes a change in magnetization, and therefore is determined by the derivative of this energy with respect to magnetization M....
